I paint to bring a glimpse of wild beauty inside, where it can delight and inspire year-round.
Meet the Maker
“I love wild creatures and wild places. My paintings honor nature with a degree of realism, expressively rendered, where the hand of the artist is evident. I love the immediacy, freshness, and sparkling color of pastel, which I sometimes combine with charcoal, watercolor, ink, or oil paint. Visit my wall space upstairs at Trackside Studios to see a collection of my lively little birds, painted lovingly in pastel. I hope you can hear them sing!”
About
I've been a nature lover and conservationist since I was in my teens. The painting part came later when I moved to southern Appalachia and became captivated by the special beauty and biodiversity of the region. Since 2008, I've been expressing my love for this region -- and all wild creatures - using the pastel medium. I'm a Member of Excellence of the Appalachian and Southeastern Pastel Societies In 2004, I was juried into Artists for Conservation, the world’s leading artist group supporting the environment.
